Hosier v. Citigroup — $54M FINRA Arbitration Award

In 2011, Bakhtiari & Harrison partner Ryan Bakhtiari served as co-lead counsel in Hosier, et al. v. Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. — a FINRA arbitration that resulted in a $54.1 million award including $17 million in punitive damages. The Wall Street Journal reported it as the then largest FINRA arbitration award ever levied against a major Wall Street brokerage in favor of individual investors. Citigroup’s petition to vacate was denied by the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado in December 2011.
